Renowned St. Louis artist Brock Seals is celebrating 314 Day with a special, one-night-only St. Louis-focused pop-up exhibition titled “Whole Order,” featuring his own works and those of fellow local artists including: A-Ron Johnson, Erica Green, Malik Fabian-Mahmud, Jaidah Michelle Kirksey, Kenneth Randle and Jeru Battle. The name “Whole Order” is inspired by St. Louis Chop Suey.
“I was just relating it to St. Louis as a whole. The exhibit will have different pieces, but everything will have a tie towards St. Louis culture,” Seals says of the multi-medium exhibition that includes photography, paintings, sculptural installations and video. “I’ll also be releasing a special St. Louis capsule collection of merchandise including hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts and jerseys.”
Taking place from 5-9 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, the evening will also include music, light refreshments and an opportunity to interact with the artists.
“Every year, I try to celebrate 314 Day. The majority of my work is centered around St. Louis culture, so I felt like it was the perfect day to do something for the city art-wise,” says Seals. Everybody who is an artist or everybody who’s a part of the community plays a pivotal role in its growth.”
