Mabel Suen
Writer and photographer
As a first-generation restaurant kid born and raised in St. Louis, Mabel Suen has always loved food. This early behind-the-scenes introduction to the world of hospitality manifests in a passion for capturing not only what’s on the plate but who is behind it. After graduating with degrees in culinary arts and baking and pastry arts from St. Louis Community College, Mabel has served as cultural storyteller for multiple area publications, contributing features and photography to Feast Magazine, Ladue News and Riverfront Times. With her camera, she has documented hundreds of restaurants, bars and everything in between for more than a decade, in hopes of uplifting the colorful local food community. With theSTL.com, she looks forward to delving even deeper into each delicious dish.
